Pros

You will learn a lot.

Cons

Way too much work for some departments, but only certain departments will get more help due to lack of backup from management. People leave company at an alarming rate, but that doesn't seem to trigger any concerns from management or fellow employees because it has become normal.

Pros

-Talent. Catalent has an EXCELLENT staff that is willing to go above and beyond for management, clients, and the overall business, even at a personal detriment. The people are the BEST part of this organization. -Facility. The Harmans facility is state of the art, with many outfitted clean rooms and suites ready for drug product manufacturing.

Cons

I worked at Catalent from 2020-2023 in Supply Chain. When I started, the leadership team was transparent, honest, and committed to the staff while also doing whatever possible to meet client requirements and executive leadership goals. I quickly saw that no matter what middle management (Mgr, Sr. Mgr, Associate Director) tried to do to make it easier for the lower level staff, they were told to "do whatever it takes" to meet unrealistic financial goals and project timelines. In an effort to be competitive with other CMO's, Catalent provides shorter timelines and better budgeted contracts that aren't feasible from an operator perspective. The result is a highly talented team working 70+ hours a week with no overtime and low bonuses. These talented people make it 2-3 years before looking for employment elsewhere. You learn a lot at Catalent, but at the cost of your personal life and mental and physical health. The introduction of a new ERP system with SIGNIFICANT constraints while increasing the run rate of multiple client programs with no updated SOW adds to the chaos that is a normal day at Catalent. If the CEO and executive leadership team along with Comm Ops and BD accurately position Catalent to sign contracts and allow their talented team to execute on them, they will find themselves in an overall much better position then driving their talented staff into the ground for unattainable finances and production KPIs. Please listen to your people.

Pros

You can yell at other employees/make them cry with no repercussions. You can get away with skipping work/doing nothing and they won't fire you. Management will help you if it benefits them. You won't be micromanaged. In fact, you won't be managed at all! Other people will get promotions. If you get cancer, they might give you a few weeks off before demanding you come back to work.

Cons

I hope that I save someone's sanity/marriage/life by posting this before HR can cover it up with a bunch of fake positive reviews. The Kansas City Catalent location has absolutely no values, even though they send out daily e-mails reminding you about said "values". This is the first lie they will tell you when you walk into the door. Don't believe it. Management has no idea what's going on from day-to-day with their employees. They are useless, so much so that I believe Catalent could function without them. Beware of the constant management battles you will endure while working here, as well. You can't trust them, they will lie to get their way (even at the cost of someone losing their job). Throughout my 5 years working for Catalent, in my department of around 25 employees, I saw them fire 8 and I saw 14 quit. By the time I left, only one of my original teammates remained. I was expected to work 17 hour days at times. There were other employees who rarely even worked 8 hours. Don't expect a set schedule. During COVID-19, we were still expected to be in the office 40 hours a week. No PPE was given to protect ourselves from COVID-19. You'll always have something to do. If you don't? You'll do other people's work for them. This is most HORRIBLE place I've ever worked.
