Pros

The absolute best thing about this job was the students - U.S. Army Linguists who had been trained at DLI or were native speakers. Also, other than basic guidelines of what to teach or the goal for a specific course, there was nearly complete autonomy and little oversight so I could teach what I wanted. This allowed me to consult directly with the students to tailor learning to their needs.

Cons

Ft. Hood - Typical military base with all the bureaucracy that goes along with it. Also I had a 55 mile commute. Also the facilities there were inadequate and presented numerous challenges. The benefits offered through Catapult were not affordable and I had to get a policy through the AHCA Marketplace.
