Pros

job security. People never got fired for doing a poor job.

Cons

promotion is not based on achievement and competency, but based on connections. "do what I say and make me happy" style management.

Pros

Opportunities for self starters during business upswings

Cons

Business is cyclical and global footprint change is always possibility to eliminate current staffing levels at any given facility

Pros

Company recognized worldwide, Fortune top 500 (#50), quality product, really nice people, chance to move around (when the market is not doing as bad)

Cons

Locations are really unattractive (mainly Midwest in the USA or really small towns elsewhere). Mature industry and mature product so, not as attractive for younger crowds who are more into tech or modern companies.
