Pros

Caterpillar loyalty is second to none. People believe in the company and the products. Actual engineering still exists if you search out the opportunities. The team attitude at Cat is outstanding and the belief in customer support still exists.

Cons

Heavy on middle and upper management. An entire fleet of MBBs simply create processes that are unnecessary and time consuming. Often the process creators have no experience in doing the job function that are creating the process for. Often an aggressive employee is rewarded even though substance is lacking. No good locations.

Pros

Good place to work. Fair managers. Strong long term company. Excellent product and engineering. Leader in the field. Care about people.

Cons

Not cutting edge engineering going on. Have done it all just making small tweaks to make products better. Some outsourcing hurting quality.
