Pros
Absolutely NONE . . . .
Cons
I was offered a job by CBOE, and during their "screening" process, insisted that I provide 13 YEARS of tax returns back to 2004 to "prove" I owned my own business. This is the most RIDICULOUS request I have ever encountered, when ALL of my other employment was verified. There is NO reason that my tax returns are required, and even if I did provide it (or could, as I no longer have any of that information, and the IRS doesn't even keep tax returns that long), it provides absolutely no validation of anything. I have never had any organization request such documentation. I interviewed for over 10 HOURS with at least 10-12 different people, over a course of several weeks; and this is the thanks and appreciation I get for it. I would have loved to not have completely WASTED my time and effort for a basic low-level position that I was also vastly LOW-BALLED on for a salary. They are far from competitive and try to throw most of your salary into the form of a bonus, which they couldn't even tell me how it was calculated. Translation = You'll never see that bonus. I've been in in the job force for over 25 years, and that's exactly what happens EVERY time. Stay far, far away from these shysters and their antics. They wouldn't even TELL ME they retracted their offer, I had to figure that out on my own. Talk about unprofessional, to say the least.
