Pros

I have a flexible schedule in a unique position that is both challenging and fun. I have the pleasure to work with some of the brightest, well-trained and professional group of folks around that make me strive to be better each day. I feel my compensation is solid, the continuing training and new tools provided to me are valuable telling me- my time and effort are appreciated.

Cons

Some of the outlying areas are increasingly more difficult to find qualified candidates, I strongly believe in Cellular Sales, the position we offer and the rewards received for putting in the work. Hiring the RIGHT candidate, every time is very important to both Cellular Sales and I.

Pros

If you're at the right locations you can make very good money Decent training program Medical/Dental insurance are decent Schedules are very flexible, if you need a day off they are really good about accommodating you. Or you can just find someone to pick up your shift.

Cons

Your systems are VERY limited compared to corporate stores, so this will create LOTS of customer service issues. Their "chargeback" system, basically if one of your clients cancels their contract within 6 months and the phone isn't returned, you will have the commission you earned PLUS the cost of the phone revoked. I saw people lose anywhere between $300-$700 per month from their paychecks because of this. (in all fairness however upon being hired they do disclose this chargeback system to you) If something turns up missing, they take it out of the employees paycheck. Up front prices of phones and accessories are much higher than corporate stores, making it that much harder to close sales (typically $50-$100 higher than corporate stores). The customers in a lot of cases have to do mail in rebates to get any cost differences back, which again creates lots of unnecessary customer service issues. Floating to different locations is mandatory, sometimes having to drive 40-50 miles to work with no reimbursement for fuel. Also making it harder to see your referrals and client base. It seems like they encourage a cut throat/unethical sales environment. Nobody is really disciplined or discouraged from stealing other sales peoples sales. Lying to customers is pretty common, i've seen quite a few people sell these "open box" phones to customers without disclosing it was a returned item, just so they can make a higher commission. No vacation time. All in all it's a decent place for a young kid to start out in sales, or maybe a wife who's using this as a supplemental income. . I wouldn't recommend this place if you're the main source of income for your family, or expect this to be a long term career path.

This is very concerning. Please contact our Knoxville headquarters via email hr@cellularsales.com and give us specific examples of how you are encouraged to be unethical. That is not something we want practiced or taught, and goes against our core belief of hiring honest, personally responsible sales professionals.

Pros

I love working at Cellular Sales! I have been with the company since April 2013 and have had opportunities given to me that I never expected. I feel that Cellular Sales works to make sure people are positioned where their talents and strengths can be best utilized, but they also provide room for growth. They show their care and concern for their employees in the programs and benefits they provide. I love the family atmosphere and consider working for Cellular Sales a privilege!

Cons

Because of the growth of the company, maintaining a family like atmosphere can be a challenge, but it is doable if we all work together for one common goal.
