Pros

- It's a great place to start your career. I worked here for over a year and I was never expected to work longer than my hours (although editorial teams often did) and my manager was reasonably accommodating to flexible working. I felt like I was treated like a human, which is rare in bigger companies! - Great social culture - regular team lunches, pub trips, and some travel if you work in sales/marketing. Overall a really fun and supportive office environment, and HR are great.

Cons

- There isn't an opportunity for most to progress, and that has become more apparent after the merger. LBR hires bright graduates but the work is often incredibly boring, with no automation or investment in speeding up labour-intensive manual tasks. - The pay is low. Staff get yearly pay reviews, but generally pay only goes up by about £1k a year, which when you start on a low salary means it takes a while to get to a salary deserving of the people they hire. - Following the merger, management were becoming increasingly focused on sales. There was a huge hiring spree of salespeople and benefits given to sales, to the detriment of marketing and other departments. It began to create tension and a bit of a toxic culture, where before marketing and sales had been very close.

Pros

Really fantastic colleagues and senior management do well to engage teams in social activities.

Cons

Senior management are under too much pressure from investors to reduce pay rises to the point where talented graduates are always leaving
