Declining benefits and pay damage employee morale

Pros

used to have good medical insurance

Cons

The employee benefits package has declined significantly since the merger. The medical cover was one of the few genuinely competitive benefits offered by the company and a key reason many employees chose to stay. It was therefore extremely disappointing to see these benefits reduced, with little transparency and insufficient communication regarding the changes. The timing has only made matters worse. After a year of hard work and strong commitment from employees, the salary increase this year was already disappointing. The decision to cut medical benefits on top of that has further damaged employee morale and trust. There is a noticeable disconnect between what leadership says and what employees experience. We regularly hear messages from the CEO about retaining talent and making the company a place where people want to build long-term careers. However, the decisions being made suggest otherwise. If the goal is truly to retain employees, the company needs to demonstrate that through meaningful actions rather than corporate messaging. Unfortunately, the direction of travel is concerning. Compensation is becoming less competitive, benefits are being reduced, and employee concerns appear to carry little weight. As a result, it is increasingly difficult to see a long-term future here

Pros

Great views of the Hong Kong harbour in the office that they force you to come and sit at your desk jail while sucking the life and soul out of you.

Cons

Observations over a period of employment indicate structural issues within the leadership team, specifically relating to two long‑tenured individuals (20+ years with the organisation). Their operational approach appears disconnected from contemporary market practices, and decision‑making lacks transparency. While some colleagues are cooperative, professional alignment is frequently subordinated to deal closure, resulting in inconsistent interpersonal reliability. Direct management lacks decision‑making authority, meaningful influence, and effective advocacy for team members. This pattern is repeatedly cited by former subordinates - especially when it comes to one of the team leads in particular! The organisation exhibits persistently high vacancy rates. Employee turnover is rapid, with departures occurring on very short notice. Raising operational concerns or proposing improvements consistently leads to immediate termination, without acknowledgment or substantive response from management. Documented instances indicate that formal communications from the company in response to employee grievances contain material inaccuracies - especially as seen on responses to feedback on Glassdoor! Prospective applicants are advised to carefully assess these patterns before considering employment....

Centellic Response

Thank you for sharing your views, and we’re sorry to read that you didn’t enjoy your experience as a Centellic colleague. While we respect your views, we do challenge your comments regarding employee turnover and management transparency. Across our Hong Kong commercial team, we’ve had a colleague turnover rate of less than 10% (compared to the Hong Kong industry average of over 16%). Only one person has resigned from the commercial team in the past year. We aim to hire great people, help them develop and build a career, and be successful, recognized and rewarded. Regarding management transparency, we welcome any member of the team to suggest improvements or raise concerns about any part of the business, including our management. Please be assured that we have never – and will never – fire an employee for doing so. We believe firmly that we need to positively engage all our team members to continue thriving.
