Pros

None. Theoretically, you trade pay for job security, but that's not the case, because management has no loyalty towards employees.

Cons

Pay is way below market. Constant meaningless meetings that don't amount to anything except a waste of everyone's time. Management afraid of making decisions and needs the whole team to sign off 500 times before they do anything. You don't even have job security in the end. Zero loyalty to long-time employees. For example, Vectren's employees that were laid off after the acquisition all received 2-year severance packages regardless of seniority. CNP's employees didn't even get a quarter of the value Vectren's employees got. Management fired their own employees, many of whom have been there for a long time, and didn't even deign to take care of them -- because, of course, profits are more important. They sure didn't forget to take care of their own executive bonuses though!

Pros

Great benefits, decent pay, and stabikity

Cons

No work flexibility! Management is old, which keeps the old ideas. We worked from home almost a year in a half and now you have to have special circumstance to wfh. They operate like it’s 1970. Nothing is automated. People are leaving by the boat load.

Pros

It is a job. It is in a nice building. You get paid on time.

Cons

Corporate culture is no good: Extreme selfishness takes from the rank and file to give to the billionaires at the top. Shareholders and people at the top get all the cost savings, bonuses, electricity and gas price increases. Meanwhile, everyone else gets a cut in benefits, sick days, etc . Rank and file only gets a meager 2% annual adjustment that don't catch up to inflation. There is no promotion to keep costs low. Positions are not filled because of low starting pay but also saves money by having every one work more.
