Pros

Good pay, decent people, PTO, remote and hybrid work possible, good number of offered benefits

Cons

Lack of organization (cart before the horse constantly), very "siloed" as there are many Cetera subsidiaries and departments that don't cross-communicate, unengaged leadership that is detached and evasive, benefits are expensive, company culture is very dull, quality work and taking on additional work do not lead to more career opportunities.

Pros

Here, getting promoted to leadership doesn’t require experience or competence — in fact, those might actually hold you back.

Cons

Working here is like running from one fire drill to the next with no clear direction or strategy. Leadership is disorganized and reactive rather than proactive, creating an environment where priorities shift daily and employees are left scrambling. There’s little to no investment in up-to-date technology, so you’re expected to deliver results while working with outdated systems that slow everything down. The culture is toxic, with poor communication, favoritism, and little accountability at the top. Instead of collaboration, there’s finger-pointing and blame-shifting whenever things go wrong. Employee well-being is not a priority, benefits are minimal, pay is below market, and there are no meaningful development opportunities. Overall, this is not a company that values its people or sets them up for success. If you’re looking for stability, growth, or a healthy work environment, look elsewhere.

Pros

Some good colleagues who can become good friends later.

Cons

The management lacks transparency and direction, with no clear communication of year-end or long-term goals. During onboarding, I was expected to understand a complex 15-year-old application after a brief 20-minute explanation, which was unrealistic and unproductive. Leadership is largely unavailable—meaningful conversations with my direct manager were rare, as they were frequently inaccessible. Furthermore, raising concerns at the skip level often led to retaliation, including withholding bonuses or other punitive actions. It became evident that they were seeking a scapegoat rather than a true contributor to the team’s success.
