Pros

great academic curriculum and teaches the children to think

Cons

limited extracurricular activities and once an opinion is made of a student or faculty, it is practically impossible to change the perspective, a lot of favoritism from administration, support of faculty is not a given

Pros

Enjoy working with the children. You do develop good friendships with some teachers because of your shared love for kids.

Cons

Not a good place to work. A place built on paranoia, because being a good teacher is simply not enough. Supervisors are very unqualified. Instead of children, politics are the most important thing. I spoke to HR about an issue I was hoping to get resolved to better the school, but I was just given lip service. The stress and the amount of work required are simply not worth the pay. Sadly I will look to teach children elsewhere.

Pros

Flexible work schedule with an understanding staff. Smaller company feel which enriches the work environment.

Cons

SOPs are stuck in the 90's. Spreadsheet, spreadsheets, and more spreadsheets. On top of that, management really likes to micro-manage your every move.
