Pros

Great people with a strong product line and brand reputation. #1 company in there field. New CEO appears to be a positive change.

Cons

Company has had a very confusing strategic vision for many years. Last CEO started to make some positive changes but also caused a lot of tension within the company

Pros

Fair salary and benefits.

Cons

Too many trips around the country having meetings. These are more sessions to make sure you are drinking the Kool Aid.

Pros

Pay well and they recently expanded the vacation policy to 15 days which means I can spend more visiting family throughout the year. Very excited about upcoming 3-month experiment with casual dress and summer Friday hours. Fingers crossed it will be a permanent change.

Cons

Sadly lots of cons. This company moves slow on everything – Hiring to fill open roles, getting things approved, addressing customer concerns, releasing app updates, bringing new products to market, marketing those products, etc. Teams are always working in silo because of poor organizational structure. Managers spend all day in meetings and the day-to-day people are stuck in the mud waiting for a million and one approvals to go through. In my part of the company, we’re given an objective but no resources to make it happen. They keep saying that we want to be seen as technology and marketing driven company, but we don’t seem to be making progress in either area. Nobody ever laughs here. It’s impossible to feel close to other co-workers because most are so stressed that they’ll throw you under the bus in heartbeat just to stay afloat themselves. All the innovative, smart, passionate people leave because they feel suffocated and have no room to grow in their careers, be challenged, or see any possibility of their awesome ideas come to life. No trust is given to employees to take risks and learn from their mistakes. Inappropriate, negative people who drag everyone else down are kept around way to long and HR fails to intervene in a timely manner.
