      Great products & brand leaders Good family ownership

      Cons

      Old school management Extremely poor work-life balance Lacking progressive thinking Past success and strong gains and reputation now moving backwards Parent company family ownership is allowing their strong values and past high integrity to be compromised by new leadership

      Was a great company but lost its way...and its talent.

      Pros

      Very well financed company that makes millions on a needle in a haystack product. Garage Door Openers are a simple concept and but through solid marketing and outstanding engineering they have been able to maintain 40 margin points in an industry that averages 10-20%. Company does a great job of equipping employees with resources, tools, etc. There was always plenty of cash.

      Cons

      New "Rubbermaid" culture is all glitz and no substance. Saying '5S' and 'Lean' will not develop products. Be prepared to travel to Mexico...a lot. Careful when navigating the Matrix organization...unless you're Neo Significant turnover since 2010

      Rapid change offers opportunity to strong individuals. Strong company performance provides security to high to medium performers.

      Cons

      If you are unable to adapt to the new Newell Rubermaid people, you are in trouble.
