Pros

Get all the holidays off. Easy to earn PTO. Depending on your department it can be flexible work hours. The people you work with, and the department can make or break your experience here.

Cons

You must pay into your retirement account with the county and you have to be with them for 8 years before you can get vested. Pay is not competitive.
