Pros

The hourly pay is competitive for a TELLER role.

Cons

The role is now called Associate Banker-ME (ABME). The duties and responsibilities of the role are almost identical to the Personal Banker (PB) role + Teller Operations, but you will not be paid any incentives or commissions and it is not a full-time position (ABME is part-time at 30 hours, possibly less according to what the specific branch needs. When I was hired in 2018, I was a part-time AB at 20 hours, which I did because I was a full-time student and lived at home). The company is replacing the PB role for this ABME role, which is essentially hiring full-time Bankers but paying them as part-time Tellers. And it was difficult to promote into the Relationship Banker (RB) role internally as an AB, at least in my branch; the new RBs were external/outside hires, and from call centers or insurance agencies or other places that weren't even retail banking, which was very discouraging.
