      Pros

      Some of the projects/work is interesting and impactful.

      Cons

      Low pay and benefits that lead to low staff retention - makes a very chaotic and disorganized work environment. Because managers are always short-staffed management expects associates to take on 'acting manager' roles for months at a time with no recognition, training, or compensation. Upper management very disconnected to lower level staff. They higher managers externally rather than promoting internally.

      Pros

      Amazing place to start a career in international development. It has endless opportunities for professional development and to do work outside of your regular projects. The Latin America & Caribbean Business Unit is amazing! I´ve never had the opportunity to work with such a supportive, inclusive, and fun team. The new office in Navy Yard is also beautiful.

      Cons

      Your experience and community will very much depend on what team/business unit you are in. Work life balance can be bad at times, especially if you´re working on live proposals. In some PMUs, it can be hard to step away from your computer. The online work environment has made it difficult to be flexible during the day. Chemonics still has a lot to work to do to build a healthy and consistent online work environment for everyone. They say we are hybrid (which you can be) but not that many people go into the office. The salaries can also be A LOT better.
