Pros

They have to pay higher to attract talents

Cons

Whoever gets close to the family members gets to stay and promoted. Family is very religious & the company culture feels like a cult. You have to recite three paragraphs of company values and mission vision before any big meetings. But ironically, I don’t think they really put patients interest in front. Decisions are made sometimes on a whim of the family member versus logical business rational. Finally, I was backstabbed by my boss. This individual is pure evil and only cares about power and power over me. No really skills, all she did was politicking and scheming for power grab. A lot of politics and backstabbing. Worst experience I ever had in my professional life. If you want a simple corporate life where things make sense, this is not it.

Pros

I enjoyed working with seniors

Cons

Cult like culture. You have to start every meeting with the Chen med way. They state they are there to serve but I was told many times by a member of the Chen Family to send a case manager or management growth consultant into the hospital to get the patient to change their pcp simply because the patient went to the hospital too much. Everything is run by the numbers. The only thing the Chens worship is the dollar. Before you accept a position ask how long the last person lasted. I bet it is less than 2 years

The ChenMed Way is our organizational mission, vision, and values statement. We recite the ChenMed Way to keep it central to all decision making, as we are an extremely mission-driven organization. We reflect on our overall goal to ensure congruence in our behaviors, how we care for seniors, grow our organization, and serve communities across the nation. We have received multiple accolades such as being a certified “Great Place to Work” for multiple years running and being named to Fortune’s “Change the World” organizations list. These national recognitions are not financially motivated or a reflection of a bottom-line mentality. Although you are a former employee, we still encourage you to contact Compliance@chenmed.com or the Compliance Assistance Reporting Line to report compliance concerns and provide any specifics (Call CARL at: 855-252-7606; www.hotline-services.com; available 24/7; We have a non-retaliation policy for reports made in good faith; reporters also can choose to remain anonymous). This review has been reported to our compliance team for further investigation.

Pros

Great company vision and mission. Attracts smart and talented people.

Cons

Family owned with authoritarian leadership that permeates the entire company. The best and most talented employees always end up leaving. The only way to survive is to be the proverbial Yes-man. Seriously!
