Good benefits, 401k, health care, vacation. The company pays well. Here are the pay grade levels and pay scales. PSG-19 $65K to $85K, PSG-20 $83K to $98K, PSG-21 $97K to $108K, PSG-22 $107K to $124K, PSG-23 120k to 140K and PSG-24 $139k to $155k

Cons

Minorities find it difficult to get good performance reviews and promotions. Minorities are criticized for being too vocal. Rarely you find minorities in management positions. Most of them remain silent about it just to keep their jobs. Chevron is quick to fire a minority employee based simply on a complaint and no proof.

Pros

Good starting company with lots of training and career opportunities. Exposure to several different position types early on with their training program, with 2 yr rotations, generally.

Cons

Work life balance is very supervisor dependent, everything is so process driven, you erode value with the number of meetings needed to move anything forward. Salaries are low compared to industry. Promotions and advancement are related to how much your supervisor supports you and not actual work merit.

Pros

The Horizons program for new hires allows you to steer your own career. It gives you the opportunity to contribute to both local and global projects on various scales. The pay is good, and there is opportunity for annual bonuses. The people are friendly, professional, and help create a great work environment even when under pressure.

Cons

Multiple layers of management. Locations within US aren't the most desirable (Bako, Houston, Midland etc.).
