Pros

Empowerment to make decisions at all levels Emphasis on employee development Emphasis and support for Work life balance Lot of opportunities to move around and move higher International opportunities Cares about employee safety and well being Good communication from management, all directions

Cons

Pay Scale Groups (PSG) Not easy to move fast due to the unofficial 3 year requirement at each PSG. Not much diversity in the middle and upper management, no fresh or diverse thinking at these levels.

Pros

Overall the company strives to be competitive, but maintains safety as its number one concern. They try to provide many incentives, and most management strives to ensure employees are happy and productive.

Cons

The quality of work life is truly represented by the supervisor you immediately report to. If you get unlucky, you're pretty much trapped. Many times, it was "who you know" not "what you know" to squeak by. You will see many people lacking ambition, and these people are dismissed in light of relatives in higher places. Others work extensively over 40 hr/week and are just asked to do more and more. There is definitely discrepancies in workload, that seem to be based on luck of the draw.

Pros

Good salaries, great benefits (Pension Retirement Plan, 401K Plan, Success Sharing Plan, medical and dental benefits, etc.) Committed Senior Management personnel. Chevron is a great at donating to charitable causes!!

Cons

Chevron has an ineffective performance evaluation plan! Conversations with coworkers are filled with complaints from employees and managers alike about the unfairness of the plan being used to evaluate employee performance.
