Pros

Safety ALWAYS comes first. High set of core values. Work Life Balance. Great learning experience on processes.

Cons

If you're not US payroll, your chances of growing are slim to none. Management doesn't like to promote talent from emerging economic markets. 2 different worlds between Upstream & Downstream. Pay scales are relatively mediocre for non US payroll. CVX doesn't care if the country in which you work has economic woes (between inflation and devaluation, you lose double digit percentage of your salary each year), they adjust your scale to fit budget, making you earn less each year. 9/80 schedule is only applicable to operations outside the US.
