Pros

I worked at Chevy's Real Mex Restaurants for five years, during that time I was able to make enough money to put myself through an Undergraduate program.

Cons

Chevy's recently went through chapter 11, and as a consequence corporate decided to cut their budget by closing restaurants. They failed however to give their loyal employees any notice. I walked into work for a Tuesday evening shift, and found out that it was going to be my last day on the job. All of the employees were shocked. I understand that restaurants do have to close, but warning to the employees so they could find an alternative source of income would have been appreciated.

It is an "OK" restaurant to work for.

Pros

It is a restaurant that is flexible with your schedule especially if you are going to college full time. Managers usually help out during the rush.

Cons

The tips however can be better especially if you provide satisfying service. Managers can sometimes over staff the floor which has a negative effect on tips.
