Excellent manager, flexibility, eyes always on the ball. Lots of support, friendly atmosphere, easy folks to work with, collegial, intelligent. Working at home on occasion is not a problem.
Cons
Limited salary increases, very few minorities on staff, can't open windows, employee termination can be very abrupt and not well thought-out.
I got my first job out of college at CRP and I can't say enough positive things about it. The people are intelligent, kind, and supportive, there is growth opportunities (up to a certain point), and the experiences I had there set me up for a long career in publishing.
Cons
It's book publishing, so the pay isn't great, but its fair and decent for Chicago. It's a small company so there's only so much growing you can do, but they really try to keep their employees happy through regular cost-of-living increases and an awesome work environment.
