Pros

Really great benefits, including paid parental leave, fertility and generous PTO.

Cons

No major cons. As with most hospitals, leadership and structure is changing regularly.

Pros

None other than PTO levels

Cons

Micromanaging, favoritism, no support for PTO or work life balance for parents, any advancement or salary increase is based on leadership and others opinion of you as a person and not the work you do. There is no accountability for the child life directors so if you are treated unfairly or have conflict or questions about the lack of support and guidance they are giving, there’s no where to go. They say they are the highest paying in DFW to keep people from leaving but after interviewing and being offered positions at 4 other hospitals when I left, I found they are actually one of the lowest. Child life specialists in general are not respected by hospital staff for the work they do and instead seen as those with iPads or there to play.
