Pros

-Amazing food philosophy -Lots of fun (when you have enough people) -Promotes from within -Everything is pretty much figured out for you as far as admin duties, you just need to follow them -Company is growing so fast there are so many open positions -VEGAS conference!

Cons

-60+ hours a week if you are lucky, and when you are home it is still not over -No work/life balance unless you are a crew member -Minimal feedback and seldom praise once you are salary -No training or solid structure for running your own restaurant, you basically "learn as you go" -Many changes to procedures for flighty reasons which is labeled "empowerment" -Path of communication from upper to lower management is foggy -Big push for "Restaurateur" but no help to get there with removing low performers and recruiting the right people--just a lot of concentration on minute details that are not the concern yet

Pros

Company as a whole does some good things in the world - supporting sustainable agriculture ect. Good food. If you get a job as a crew member and your manager is good then the job can be fun.

Cons

If you get in as crew in a restaurant with a bad manager or you get involved in a position above crew level and have to deal with some of the upper management your life will be hell. Paranoid upper management will throw people under the bus to save their own skin. Don't be surprised if you work hard for many years, receive a lot of praise and then, suddenly, out of the blue, find yourself getting fired. This company as a whole has no loyalty to it's employees, even the ones that they claim are their highest performers. Have a back up plan if you work for them. Chipotle will sell you on a lot of high ideals but very few of the people in charge seem to actually understand those ideals. Their ideas of "high performance" are being twisted to require people to become workaholics and paranoid. The company begins to feel very cult like after awhile and people who question upper management are eliminated, quickly. While the Company does do some good things in the world there are other ways to support those good causes then to risk your personal piece of mind and career by working for them.
