Pros

Free food during your break, good benefits compared to other fast food, fresh and locally sourced ingredients.

Cons

I came fresh from a restaurant management position and was hired at Chipotle as a management trainee. On my first day, I was put on the line during dinner rush and given a 2 minute rundown of the process in broken English. I received no formal training whatsoever, and the small amount of training I did receive was delivered by annoyed coworkers and managers correcting all the mistakes I was making. Despite being told I was going to train for management aggressively alongside the GM, I spent two solid weeks prepping chips in the morning, taking my break, then cleaning the dining room and restocking the beverage area for the remainder of the day. The only time I was allowed to work the line or do anything but dining room duty was when afternoon prep needed to be completed. I was regularly told I had to socialize with my coworkers more despite the fact that none of them spoke fluent English. Several of the back of house crew would deliberately ignore my requests for more meat for the line. There was definitely a very hostile vibe coming from some of the long time employees. If Spanish is not your native language, expect that. However, there were a few incredibly nice crew members who would try to assist me when possible and I cannot thank them enough.

Pros

Chipotle used to be a fun place to work - it had a cool vibe and there was alot of freedom to try new things.

Cons

A few years ago, Chipotle went public and turned "corporate." Much less free-spirited, alot more cookie-cutter.

Pros

High quality food, fresh, great place to take pride in doing your job well.....just don't expect anyone else to take notice or give you praise.

Cons

Big target on your back if you are female and a good leader (at least in my market.) Steve and Monty are true leaders and amazing businessmen. Broke my heart to leave, but their vision was not very apparent in this region. We were encouraged to speak up and be proactive, and then punished for doing so. I still have hope that other regions have maintained the culture, but I'm not so sure that it is possible.
