Pros

Church & Dwight has come a long way in the last few years. They have made some strategic acquisitions and are being favorably viewed by Wall Street.. Management has work to address some of the changes that were plaguing the company before including culture and work life balance. If you are coming from another company with a strong marketing background, you have the opportunity to really stand out from your peers and to excel.

Cons

Internally, they continue to minimally invest in their brands. If you are coming here to do marketing, you will find your time more focused on project and general management activities.

Pros

Up and coming company that has - thus far - remained under the radar from the big giants it competes with (although this won't be for much longer). Plenty of opportunities in the company, and a strong financeand PSM group make it a place to work - if you're in those groups.

Cons

Sales group - both internal and external - run like the "fast food" shop of CPG companies, as they have taken so much under their belt that they cannot quite grasp what to organize and do about it. The internal sales group is led by a management team that is extremely political and territorial, using fear as a way to drive it's employees rather than cultivating them to grow. If you are looking outside of the sales group, this is a great company. If you're looking in the sales group....well, then.

Pros

longevity, management does what it can to keep working. almost no layoffs.

Cons

doesn't always promote from within, chooses who they want to advance or promote without opening the opportunity to other equally qualified people. experience and/or seniority on the floor means nothing except a little more vacation. little difference in terms of rewards or appreciation for the longtime employee versus the person hired 3-5 years prior. benefits package is smaller with each passing year. pay more for insurance than any other company similar or dissimilar in the area. morale is low. there is NO APPRECIATION FOR THE GOOD JOBS THE HOURLY EMPLOYEES PERFORM SEVEN DAYS A WEEK ON A ROTATING SCHEDULE. no incentive given for doing a better job.
