      Not what it is cut out to be

      A good place to learn on the job Provides power tools and PPE Can be flexible

      Cons

      Lots of unnecessary hours, usually atleast 50 a week most of the time 60. You will get blamed for not knowing something the supervisor should have told you Safety is way over the top and frustrating Your opinion doesn't matter. You will just be a number. If you're a electrical helper don't expect to work with a Journeyman or Master. They do not follow the license to helper ratio. Notorious for putting you in the apprenticeship so they can help their ratio. Don't hold class for months at a time. Pay is below average.

      Pros

      Cianbro's building market was small when I started and has since doubled in size. There is so much opportunity for this market within Cianbro. Career advancement can be very fast is you're willing to work for it. More projects are being awarded and the team is continually growing. Everyone in the group communicates well, which is tough when the market is split into small teams on projects across multiple states.

      Cons

      There isn't the greatest communication from the top down. The board has been making great decisions for the company recently, but I just wish there was a little extra communication about certain actions before they occur.
