Low pay, Decent Benefits,Some friendly co-workers, Terrible managment
Pros
As an entry level employee you get free movies(only on certain days and times), posters, popcorn, and refills. You meet plenty of nice people. The GM at the specific theater I'm at is actually a genuinely nice person.
Cons
Cinemark is not flexible with your schedule, you're forced to work holidays, pay is minimum and there's hardly any raises offered. Next to no training when you first start. Managers are extremely strict and unwilling to work with anyone of lower status. No managers reflect the values stated by Cinemark. There are plenty of nice employees, but the rude and egocentric employees who have worked there longer than you have outnumber those who are willing to help you. The managers expect you to know everything about your specific job and WILL get frustrated when you do something wrong. When you ask questions expect a brief, un-detailed response because not even the managers themselves know what to do. There are constantly managers breathing down your back in concession and it just pressures you to work faster, which can prone you to make more mistakes. The break room is tiny,un-organized,papers everywhere, and smells terrible most of the time. You have to bring a lock to your locker because there are thieves who will take your stuff when left alone. There is absolutely no enthusiasm by anyone because it seems like everyone there is just there because they have to.
