Pros

This is the first place I've worked since graduating from school, so I can only compare to what others have told me. Cirrus provides an excellent benefits and compensation package including health insurance, dental, vision, wellness programs including an on-site fitness center complete with group classes, and an available discounted rate for on-site chair massages during the day. They even offer discounted guitar classes during the lunch hour! Furthermore, there are company outings that really bring the company together such as weekly free happy hours, monthly concerts and birthday celebrations, and the quarterly all-hands meeting that is surprisingly entertaining and enjoyable. The employees are excellent and possess an ownership of their work while projecting an uncanny nonchalance.

Cons

The name "Cirrus Logic" isn't widely recognized by the general public, so people tend to confuse my company with one of many others.

Pros

Great engineering talent. Great customer relationships. Awesome bonuses. Great pay. Solid benefits. At one time, outstanding management with transparency, solid company future and a higher than average moral compass.

Cons

Company is based in Texas which is an "at will" work state. This works perfect for Cirrus. At will, they can lay off any employee, or entire divisions. Not a place where you can feel secure knowing that your contributions will help you keep a job in a market down turn or when a new hot market emerges. Executive, upper and middle anagement need to gain more work experience outside of the only company they have ever worked at in order to truly benefit a company and their employees.

Thanks for taking the time to write this review! As a long-time Cirrus Logic employee, as you state, we know you’ve experienced the company growing at an exceptionally high rate for several years while also developing a corporate culture that has been recognized nationally during the past several years as being one of the top companies to work for in the United States. This recognition has been exclusively based on the feedback from Cirrus Logic employees regarding their satisfaction with their company work experience. As a business, of course, the company has a responsibility to drive toward programs that it believes will be successful and lead to long-term growth opportunities. Most every company, Cirrus Logic included, periodically fine tunes its strategies and programs to meet those objectives. You mention the need for diversification, which was a benefit from the company’s recent acquisition of Wolfson Microelectronics. Once again, thank you for taking the time to write this Glassdoor review!

Pros

Good for young people that like to be bribed with beer and food. Normally happens every Friday, sometimes even a band gets invited.

Cons

Management likes to blame others for any issues instead of trying to solve the problem. Company is quick to "layoff" employees at the slightest market downturn. It's a cut throat environment, not healthy.
