Hard to get a promotion, rules are not really transparent. If you are a "get things done" person, you might run into quite some struggle with push back because things are moving slow at Cisco sometimes. A lot of "lifers" at the company, being there for 13years + and try to keep their profile low and not move too much so that they can maintain this "well paid" position until they retire.
