      The company wastes too much time collaborating

      Pros

      Good place to learn IP/routing technology. Open and fair process in place for information sharing. Good and knowledgeable employees.

      Cons

      Heavy on processes. HR and Finance put rigid rules. The company wastes volumes on unnecessary collaboration. A sales force that has no desire to sell more than its quota. The sales force waits for the channels, and resellers to make and maintain the customer contacts. It does not know how to do business directly with the end customers. It is also not well structured to reduce overlaps among the BUs.

      Pros

      * Used to work with many talented people. Many of the seasoned professionals were allowed to leave to our competitors while we paid them a year's salary. * Fair compensation * Fair work hours with good work/life balance.

      Cons

      * You won't get rich working at Cisco * With most managers having 8-14 reports and raises focused on the top 25%, you won't be receiving raises on a regular basis.

      Pros

      Very good pay. Open Communication.

      Cons

      Lethargic pace. Management is seriously lacking--they appear to have no idea at all what they're doing. Feifdoms rule the land, with each manager looking to grow their territory. Communication from upper management lacks any actual content. Stock is in free fall. Layoffs are planned, but unknown where they will take place. Management is moving jobs overseas.
