Pros

Great pay and benefits at this company.

Cons

Ever since Trump's tariffs on China, CEO has become the Minister of Woke. If you believe there is a line between how you earn a living and what you are required to think, then you may not enjoy the atmosphere.

Pros

Easy. Not very challenging. Cisco is a place to join if you have 5 kids and you want minimal challenge. Equal opportunity employer. I get lovely emails from old executives who send out emails like “go team” and “let’s close the quarter strong” yet I have no idea who these people are or what they do and I’m a manager!. If I’m part of their team I would have loved to have met them! My sister is 54 with 3 kids and dreams of a job at Cisco so that says a lot.

Cons

Not very challenging. No real personal growth potential... Cisco worries more about what dividends they will give stock holders then how many shares they will give talented employees. I’m part of one of the large software companies that Cisco acquired and the talent has fled like animals fleeing fire. I’ve personally stayed because of growth opportunities exist but hiring new talent under Cisco is almost impossible. Because Cisco came from the hardware world they do not fully understand the software world. the concept of retaining talent or talent acquisition is not really understood. When COVID happened Cisco stopped all hiring for 4 or 5 months while every other smart company in the world gobbled up our talent. If you look at Cisco’s leaders it’s like viewing a sad picture gallery of a high school reunion from 1950 ... some will see this as a joke but it’s really a view into the slow death of what once was a champion. Cisco can only find washed up 50 year olds for executives? I’m not against age but I know more people in their 30s who are better leaders then Cisco’s geriatric crowd. I’ve been to many large marketing trade show events where large companies like google or other companies similar to cisco are there with huge flashy creative booths telling you a million ways how they will solve your problems. Then you come to the Cisco booth and it says just “Cisco” ... as if someone in marketing thought that was enough to explain what they do ... very sad

We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review on your personal experience. There is no doubt that acquisitions are tough, and sometimes it takes a while for the cultures to combine and shine. This will, of course, take time as we adjust, learn and grow together. As we navigate working remotely from home, while maintaining some of our business critical employees in office, we are thankful for our collaboration technology that allows us to connect from anywhere.
