      Great team and skills Family First mentality Great benefits

      Cons

      Hire & Fire mentality - you can be blowing out your metrics but if you or your team no longer fit in the plan, you're gone. Other companies I have worked for will try and slot you elsewhere in the company. Entrepreneurial approach tends to backfire - duplication of efforts between teams sets up competition rather than collaboration... ultimately someone loses (not necessarily because the winner is better - a lot of nepotism).

      Pros

      Great benefits, great opportunity for early in career.

      Cons

      Minimal work/life balance. Company is undergoing a directional change (HW to SW & Services) and the turning of the ship has many in flux relative to their career direction. Culturally, losing the familial feel it once had, employees are treated as #'s toward the financial goals. Annual lay-offs.

      Pros

      Cisco consistently upholds the standard that our days start at 8 and we take weekends and holidays. I do end up working out of hours and on holidays but by choice and not requirement. My managers have consistently supported my professional development. I had the opportunity to attend the Simmons Leadership Institute and this made a huge impact on my professional and personal life.

      Cons

      There is little awareness that men talk over women. I am often the only woman in the meeting and have never had a man say "wait, you just talked over her." I often have to wait until every man has finished talking before I can speak when I am running a meeting - when I am not running a meeting I often don't get to talk at all.
