Friends only promote friends. It is almost cult like. So many managers that are not qualified to lead.

Cons

Too many layoffs quarter after quarter. Cisco's "People Deal" is a con; no employee reviews makes it easier to lay off good workers.

Pros

benefits are alright though most start past 6 months pay is good looks good on resumé

Cons

-work life balance is very poor (salary employees are basically modern day slaves) -everything is dependent on your relationship with manager (remote work, any shift in hours from 9-5, etc.) -job duties are unclear -team not involved in technical decisions -remote work is discouraged for most but not all employees even of the same position on the same team. -non technical managers leading IT teams (database, etl, developers) -very inclusive environment, not for people who keep business professional -everyone wants to be friends, lots of managers show outright nepotism
