Pros

Citigroup is excellent place for a software developer to start and get hands on experience in the financial world. You can get exposed to a number of business areas and a wider set of technologies.

Cons

The Compensation is not competitive compared to other investment banks. Citigroup seems to place little value on existing employees and, instead of promoting current employees, it believes in hiring from outside. This contributes to poor morale and high employee turnover.

Pros

Wonderful benefits, approachable management, flexibility, proper work life balance

Cons

Uncertainty regarding Smith Barney's ultimate fate. The rumor mill was rampant. Encourage others to stay informed as employees are often the last to know.
