Pros

The best thing about Citi is the work / life balance. Management is flexible with outside activities and understand that other commitments also matter to their employees.

Cons

Citi hires a lot of uneducated people that move up the ranks by brown-nosing and playing internal politics. The dress code resembles a night club at times and a lot of the employees seem to spend more energy trying to get out of work than to just get in a do what they're paid to do.

Pros

Nothing good to talk about.

Cons

Everything is bad about this department. All the managers are just incompetent, when any employee complains about work environment, they threaten them with dire consequence. Inspite of many employees complaining to the upper management and many resigning their jobs (hence the constant stream of openings) they keep promoting the offending managers. I have seen employees resign in tears after being targeted by their managers

Pros

Still maintains brand recognition, good facilities and infrastructure (albeit not as good as JP Morgan Chase), very friendly co-workers, great opportunities to work remotely if one were so inclined.

Cons

Dishonest middle managers, poor understanding of the advantages of using technology, implied threats of termination used to "motivate" employees into working 80 hours a week (salaried/no OT), very poor consideration towards employees that are high achievers/performers vis-a-vis rewarding performance with more work without the additional acknowledgement of added responsibility/title/salary, mostly ambiguous goals/unclear strategy, overall very poor morale, very poor work/life balance, and generally just not a good environment to start or advance your career in.
