Pros

Partners care about YOU. Sabbatical after 5 years of employment. Overtime pay or vacation compensation time after 40 hours of overtime. I was able to transition from the NJ office to the NY office with no headaches. I am able to approach Joel Cooperman at anytime. He has a real open door policy. Job stability! Been at the firm over 10 years. Lunch hours are flexible. Family atmosphere with big firm mentality. Firm is now offering various social activities.they give you the opportunity and it's what you make of it. The firm gives you 15% commission on your collections. The firm offers an abroad program.

Cons

Brown nosing does exist, but happens everywhere. I still think there could be more done to improve employee culture by having the firm outting or having commingled office events (like the day of service).

Pros

Some good people Summer Friday hours Unique personalities Office location

Cons

I am giving this company 1 star because of the sheer unprofessionalism that I witnessed and the hostile environment it created in the tax dept. I noticed that other offices and even other departments in the NY office were happier and may have had less turnover but my experience here was unsatisfactory, to say the least. I feel as though I was misled upon joining the firm but below I will clear up any confusion for future candidates: -Be prepared to be micromanaged. -Be prepared to feel like you are in high school with people talking about you behind your back (supervisors, managers and above as well). -Be prepared for the "overtime" spiel...they will sell you on their overtime but don't tell you that the first 75 hours must be converted to (10) mandatory vacation days and your other overtime is taxed at a high rate so you will probably see about half of those dollars. -Be prepared to be spoken to without respect and possibly chastised(depending on who you interact with). -Be prepared to not receive feedback in a timely manner (if you receive it at all). -Be prepared to work on clients with tight budgets and lengthy requests (some of management will really guide you through while others will toss the work at you to get done with little direction. It really depends on who you work with). -Lastly, be prepared to work long hours without recognition of your efforts, often feeling like you are just a body filling a seat.

Citrin Cooperman Response

We appreciate your candid review and your contributions over the last several years. It’s encouraging to hear that you value the flexibility at our firm. To clarify, Citrin Cooperman was not purchased by BlackRock - our investment was led by Blackstone, a distinct private equity firm. This partnership has strengthened our resources and capabilities, not diminished them, and we're incredibly proud of our track-record having been the first accounting firm across the top 25 firms with a successful private equity turn. We recognize that change can feel disruptive, but our senior leadership team is committed to ensuring that our culture, client service, and employee experience remain strong as we grow. We'd encourage you to share your constructive feedback directly with your practice leadership, PCL and/or HR team. Kind regards, Citrin Cooperman's Human Resources team
