A Great Opportunity to Learn and Advance

Pros

Since joining the team directly from college I've been provided with unlimited opportunities to learn and take on more responsibility. I've been taught multiple skill sets that have enriched me as a person and that I can take with me elsewhere if I choose. City Furniture has been like getting a graduate degree where they pay me! I love the people I work with. I've made great friends here.

Cons

I work very hard here (not sure I could ever do otherwise) and sometimes it seems that no matter how much I do, there's always more and more being added on. I think this is the nature of the corporate environment these days and I enjoy the challenge (most of the time).

Best Place to Work!

Pros

It is the City Furniture Associates who make it a joy to come in to work everyday. This trickles down from The TOP, because the President/Owners create such a wonderful City Family corporate culture: from the on-site cafeteria, to providing Free Lunch for all associates on special company milestones, to giving flowers to all the ladies every Valentines day, the fun and thoughtful perks go on and on. Senior Management is Gung-Ho about individual recognition for stellar achievement, quality performance & high caliber work ethic. This company culture is all about fostering a sense of community, by promoting volunteerism and giving back through generous sponsoring of charitable organizations.

Cons

Pro or Con, Success only comes through hard, solid work ethic and commitment, which translates into long work hours, which is a given - for every company. City Furniture sells furniture = Retail industry = retail hours: evenings, weekends, holidays - when the customer is available to shop. Unfortunately, this industry and the hours that come with the territory may not work for everybody.
