Construction is not for those who want work-life balance or cushy amenities. No flexibility with remote work and bare minimum vacation time and holidays. Working at Clark can make it hard to have a social life with friends outside of the company because the hours are so demanding.
Resistance to change and old-school company culture fostered by leaders with traditional values and expectations - could be a pro or con depending on your personal values.
Difficult to advance past a certain level. Office politics play a large role in who gets what. Hierarchy is heavily structured. Middle-management has some power in making decisions for their teams, but direction is ultimately top-down.
New employees are tasked with large responsibilities right off the bat - sink or swim. Expectation to put in very long hours, common to work 6 days a week to get the job done. Some job sites and departments are better than others, but most of my peers got burned out and left within 1-2 years of starting. Be prepared to work.
