Sales Assistants and stockroom people are lovely to work with. Made some great friends.

Cons

All staff bullied except friends of management. Management talks to staff like children, insults staff,treated as servants to management

Pros

A business that genuinely cares about its people (in HQ at least). Strong brand and a well-known name for your CV. Financially sound business and still privately owned. Good opportunities for internal progression and development. Strong vision and direction from the top, communicated often and clearly to staff.

Cons

Slow and bureaucratic and not always open to new ideas. Overly complex and collaborative, everyone needs to agree before you do anything (see point above re slow). Under invested in management training/development and most managers seem promoted for technical ability, not their ability to manage people - so hit and miss whether you get a good manager or not.
