Horrible environment that doesn't allow people to be who they are. The worst place I ever worked.
Pros
Nice office in San Francisco.
Cons
Your Role - ClearSlide can track what salespeople do as far as how many presentations, emails, who was on the demo, what you're covering in your presentations and so on. The problem with that is they use their own software to micro manage every aspect of your job. The Product - ClearSlide is Java based and as I write this on 01/13/2013, the US Government just released a warning to Java users that asks them to disable it until a fix is found for their security issue. Simply put, the product isn't reliable long term. The People - The recruiters do seem to find some good talent. The problem is almost no one hits quota, you're micro managed to death and you receive no leads at all. The environment is very much "Boiler Room" meets "Glengary Glen Ross" in the sense that your manager doesn't try to help you get better, but yells at you for not hitting your goals. It's a JOKE. Management - Your manager is likely in his/her first role as a manager with no one to lean on for advice because none of them have experience. The way salespeople are treated is laughable. They withhold bonuses until you fight for them, the pay is not on par with other software companies in SF and the only in office benefit for employees is coffee and fruit. Coffee and fruit?
