Overall, a great place to work

Pros

I worked at ClearView for several years and generally loved the experience. I grew a lot as a young professional, generally enjoyed the work, and learned a lot from some incredible people. To be honest, the job isn't really for everyone, and that's ok. Here's what I will say--ClearView is a great place to work if you: - Want to work with extremely intelligent, diligent, and personable colleagues - Want to get up to speed on the biopharmaceutical industry very quickly - Want to specialize in solving problems specific to the biopharmaceutical industry - Want to grow quickly from a professional development standpoint - Are comfortable with receiving constructive feedback on a regular basis to promote your growth - Like the challenge of solving tough problems, sometimes in really tight time frames - Are comfortable with working late nights to get things done - Would prefer to avoid traveling to be at a client site Monday-Thursday, which is possible with the vast majority of projects the firm sells

Cons

While there are cons to working at ClearView, I would not say these are ClearView-specific--they feel much more like challenges that exist across all consultancies. Some of the top ones that come to mind: - Work-life balance can be tough, especially when you're new to consulting (e.g., 1 year or less) - Projects aren't always scoped properly (or scope can evolve quite quickly in the middle of a project), which can make the project experience challenging - You don't always get to see the decision that your clients have made downstream of your projects, which can feel unsatisfying

Pros

Junior level people are generally nice and fun and can become your outside of work friends if that's what you want, office-wide social events are fun, good mentoring opportunities for tenured A/SAs and upwards, learn a lot on the job, some pretty interesting projects, high level of client-facing exposure early on, New York office space is nice with coffee machines, beer carts on Fridays, good exit opportunities, some managers and members of leadership are amazing people.

Cons

Some projects have horrible WLB; some managers don't acknowledge your hard work; evaluation/promotions system is not very transparent; feedback is vague and sometimes not actionable, making it very difficult to improve in those areas; expectations for certain roles are not the most consistent or well-communicated/explained; office culture is okay but not the best (e.g., bi-weekly lunches/catch-up is held in a communal area but most people don't listen and just work on project stuff or just take the free food and go back to their desks); I know people who have better WLB and get paid more, even in consulting. Also some people in the Boston office are click-y; I think New York office is more inclusive and welcoming.

Pros

ClearView is rapidly growing. The people are extraordinarily intelligent and talented. The work is very science-heavy.

Cons

When I first started, I thought many of the Glassdoor reviews were exaggerated. They are most certainly not. The project leads are overworked and often inaccessible as a result. These issues flow downstream to the analysts and consultants. ClearView has prioritized quantity over quality across aspects of their business, resulting in a complete and utter lack of investment in their people. Instead, they take in dozens of new hires from top institutions, throw them to the sharks, and see who emerges with their head above water. There is no culture to speak of. Just collectively held angst.
