Pros

Account managers will work HARD at Clearwater. I learned a lot of technical skills (Excel, database work, information on fixed income securities, etc) and a lot on how to provide excellent client service. As a "start-up" tech company, CW was VERY open to improving the software, in-house processes, and client service style. If your clients wanted something and you could articulate and prove a broad need, there was a high chance that the developers would create that functionality for you. Innovation was boundless, but it also fostered a somewhat competitive environment. Benefits and starting salary were quite generous, especially considering the cost of living in Boise.

Cons

Clearwater Analytics is a SOFTWARE company. The company hires extremely bright accountants and finance majors - opportunities lie in management positions and product development. As a finance major, I always wanted to pursue portfolio management. Ultimately I left the company when an opportunity arose. I believe many of my coworkers felt the same way, thus the extremely high turnover rate within Client Services. It was difficult to take a "relaxed" vacation. Since everyone had 10+ account relationships, it was a burden to coworkers to leave for an extended amount of time and difficult to return since they tended to only cover the client's "basic" requirements. Workloads were very high before and after time off.
