Pros

VERY fast growing company (UK office has grown from 15-95 people in 4 years I've worked here) that provides great career opportunities. Company is very profitable and invests heavily in growth Challenging work - any routine, BAU processes are targeted for automation and there is a higher level of project / process improvement work that any company I've worked at before. Flat structure that encourages people to push themselves and take on new challenges. Open and honest culture. Feedback is direct, constructive and challenging. Very few office politics, promotions and new opportunities go to the best people, not those that sell themselves the best. Global company with opportunities to travel.

Cons

Benefits including pension, bonuses etc have improved markedly yet are not yet in line with rest of market.

Pros

The Edinburgh office is a melting pot of nationalities and cultures. This is really enjoyable as it provides a very varied work experience, and from a personal growth perspective, it's the number one reason to choose to work here for me. The company is still young, and the "figure it out" attitude is the everyday mantra. The people make work here easier, and overall enjoyable.

Cons

According to management, there's huge room for growing the company. However, it doesn't appear so clear what that will entail from a personal growth perspective. It seems like the hiring strategy has focused in hiring entry level people across the whole company since inception. Once the company matures, naturally most ambitious staff will start to wonder if it'd be the case to move elsewhere, as the structure at CW seems to be flat, with very little room for promotions and/or improvements. The pay package is tailored to fit a very young and entry level generation of staff, and probably fails to attract most experienced employees, which is probably what's more needed at a time of "switch" to a more mature environment. Parental and remote work policies are definitely not in line with potential competition in Scotland, which is not only limited to Fintech, Software and Investment Management, but also with Banks.
