Pros

401k match and the sales and marketing department will give you food. There are good employees there. Real people who care for those who care for them.

Cons

VAX MANDATE (I’ll be the first to stay it). They also bullied and threw money at people to get vaccinated. Then if you weren’t, I hope you like your second class citizenship/employee status. There is no work from home flexibility. Do not let them trick you. They took it away from the current employees. This job can be done at home. They may allow you to work from home, but it will be treated like carrot on a stick. Do you love you family? Well upper management will make you feel bad for working from home to take care of your loved ones. I don’t really think managers bragging about how little maternity leave they took us a welcoming sign for any women planning on starting a family. Sales and marketing wasn’t very flexible when it comes to kids. Life happens and your employees are human. Show some humanity. Employees are forced to use vacation time to go see a doctor and take care of themselves. I did did leave during the “great resignation”, BUT I decided I wasn’t going to sell my soul and life for money. I took a pay cut just to get out. Your salary mill benefits are trash. Very high deductible for single and family. If you want to work for the mill, go union. Benefits are better, you have Representatives to stand up for you, pay is way more annually. The benefits package is better too. Cliff’s goes back and forth on policies for salary employees. Sales and marketing has job titles tiers, but no concrete guidelines on what is needed for each titles. It’s a popularity contest for management. The CEO says he cares for his employees, but would think of pushing you in front of a coil car for $$$.

Pros

Its a paycheck i guess.

Cons

- Extremely understaffed - Over worked and under appreciated - High cost HDHP insurance plans, no PPO Upon hiring in their offer they denied negotiating pay rate with a counter that they guarantee 20% bonus until start of operation. They then took it away and blamed covid for no profits but turned around and paid cash to buy Arcelor Mittal a month after taking away bonus. New hires that were hired in during the second quarter and after were denied 3rd and 4th quarter bonuses because they were hired in during the covid crisis. However they had to come to work everyday during the crisis? In the offer we would have yearly performance reviews with raises, no raises or reviews have been given. Work through your breaks and lunches to get the job done for upper management to call you lazy. CEO forced the plant into early startup on Christmas so he could collect a large bonus before year end. The plant wasnt ready to startup and costed us 3 additional weeks of downtime and wasted money in unnecessary repairs that negatively affects any potential bonus for the workers.

Pros

Great pay, easy work, opip, profitshare

Cons

Poor management, hostile work environment, First week on the job had an employee try to fight me in break room, reported to hr and it was dealt with. Few months in another employee jumped me in a safety meeting. Strong language was used. Reported to union hall and was dealt with. Following after incident management caught wind and they retaliated against me. Management has called me names, told me to “belly crawl under dump trucks” And finally, leading up to me putting my resignation in. Getting called slurs in the hallways also in a safety meeting in front of management. Reported to union hall.
