I.T outsourcing decision has taken over a year

Pros

Pay is not too bad, health benefits good, number of paid leave days is good. You might get to do some interesting work - mostly because management have no idea what you're doing most of the time.

Cons

Things are going downhill, and fast, at the Cleveland Clinic. They're quick to tell everyone that we're supposedly "number 2 hospital in the country, number 1 in heart care", and in the next breath they're telling us how much we're struggling, and how Obamacare is making the clinic poor so we have to lay off employees. In 2015, they told the I.T division that they were starting an investigation into potentially outsourcing our jobs. Over a year later, and they are still unable to tell anyone if they still have a job - meanwhile reminding everyone how important employee "wellness" is to them after stressing out 500-1000 employees for a year - huge hypocrisy. There are way too many managers, all of them running around like chickens with their heads cut off from one meeting to another, where nothing is ever achieved. It's hard to tell what most of them are even there for. When someone has a good idea, it's ignored, and then brought back up a few years later as a manager's idea, at which point the idea is outdated and doesn't make sense any more.

New Grad RN's beware

Pros

Benefits package is one of the best. Some of the nursing staff is extremely dedicated as are the doctors.

Cons

Main Campus is too corporate and management is not interested in patient care, only what they perceive as what patient care 'should' be. Parking is expensive and too far away from unit locations. Senior nurses can be mean and spiteful (they still eat their young at CC!) and mgmt does nothing about it. If you do not complete the Orientation period, either by your choice or theirs, they will report you to the OH board of nursing. They have a mentality that if your are not good enough for CC you are just not good enough.

Not what I expected

Pros

Great benefits, decent pay considering health insurance covers so much, tuition reimbursement, some growth opportunities, emphasis on top-notch patient care, state-of-the-art treatments and technology, 12-hour shifts, and some of my coworkers are great.

Cons

There are too many politics. Too many moody and lazy employees; there needs to be more of an emphasis on finding top-notch, hard-working, compassionate employees. If the Clinic put half the effort into hiring such PCNAs, dietary employees, housekeepers, etc. as they do with higher-up positions (RNs, NPs, MDs, SWs, RTs, etc.), I wouldn't be quitting, patients would be more satisfied, and other employees wouldn't be scurrying out of the doors. Come on! This isn't science; it's common sense. I'm all for CCF being an EQUAL opportunity employer; that doesn't mean you hire a copious amount of lazy, unappreciative, apathetic employees. The Clinic needs a massive employee restructuring! I should have to see a McDonald's employee stuffing chicken nuggets in her mouth and another dancing while I am waiting to order a coffee. Not to mention, I am sick of floating at least once a week to different parts of the hospital where I have to deal with even more jerks in addition to working on a unit I'm unfamiliar with! As a RN, it is hard to rely the supportive staff. I have pharmacy techs chewing gum in my ear when I call for a medication, hanging up on me, and not sending the medications my patients need! These managers need to tighten their reins and fire any employee not contributing to the Cleveland Clinic's "world-class care"/patient-first mission. This point-system is also killing me! I called off four times over the course of an entire year and have almost reach my point max. In addition, I provided a possible revision to this system and was simply blown off.
