Pros

Really great, unusual technology. Really great benefits, good insurance, generous vacation policy. People overall are very friendly. Collaborative atmosphere, overall. Room to grow. Within limits, people can and do take initiative to make the company better. Privately owned by senior management, who are very forward-looking. They are more focused on long-term strategy than quarter by quarter performance. If you've suffered through being in a publicly traded or hedge fund owned company, you'll recognize this as a godsend. Company is growing like mad, new opportunities open up all the time. If you live in Queens or Long Island, you're commute will be much, much easier.

Cons

Very old fashioned company. Senior management known to do "bed checks" i.e. make sure no one has left early or arrived late. Even though the technology it sells is innovative, the software, systems, and business processes are way behind the curve, resulting in a lot of chaos and process waste. For example, even though CD is a project management driven organization, there's no company-wide project management software. In some ways, they try to run things like they are still a company with a dozen employees, but they're at 500 and going up. Like a lot of surburban-based companies, they pay less than their urban counterparts.

We do feel we have a very collaborative work environment. We are also very proud of our growth over the past few years, and see much of the same as we move through 2018 and beyond. In regards to your concerns about upper management, we welcome the opportunity to discuss them with you in more detail, HR is always open for conversations on how we can make improvements. Our upper management and leadership team is very dedicated to the success of the company, and to providing a productive and enjoyable corporate culture.

Zero training & unrealistic expectations

Pay is average or slightly above.

Cons

You will be hired based on your resume skills and told what job they need you for but then be tasked with something totally different and be expected to perform on a expert level with minimal or no guidance from management. Middle management will report to upper management on your daily work without correcting you and you won't ever know it. You will be quietly critiqued/complained to upper management on a daily basis and never know it until you are let go for reasons unknown. You will start out with minimal assistance then a week later be given double the task with no assistance.
