Pros

Great culture and plenty of opportunity to get involved and have an impact on the company. CSA really cares about its employees and the benefits are great.

Cons

Contract work can make it more difficult to move up within the company.

Pros

The best quality about this company is its culture and the people. They promote employee values that instill fun, creativity, and team work. The company-sponsored day outings, such as marathons, and activity groups, such as community sporting leagues and hiking, are great opportunities to enjoy the San Diego area while getting to know your coworkers. The decision to promote Dave Hickey to CEO was a smart choice. He is personable and willing to listen to anyone's idea - even if you're just a lowly grunt. That was a quality that was missing with the former CEO and it could often feel like senior leadership was a closed-door boys' only club reserved for employees who have been part of CSA since the beginning. Now there is a much more inclusive-feel to the company.

Cons

The pay is not comparable to other industry competitors. This is something leadership has said they are hoping to improve in the next year, but many are reserving judgment until they actually see the changes. CSA is also on a brink of becoming an official large business and will lose its small business advantage. This has led to a lot of restructuring, new processes, and initiatives, but without the necessary investment in a solid corporate back office. It seems disorganized and gives off the appearance of the company not being prepared. Finally, there is limited opportunity for management responsibilities; and sometimes management, director, and VP level positions are not competed internally, which further diminishes a person's opportunity for upward movement. This has led to people leaving the company for better opportunities that include management and leadership roles.
