      Executive management team is seasoned and understands the opportunities and challenges in the marketplace. A commitment to open communication and transparency regarding the business. Strong commitment to a long term opportunity for employees to grow with the company. The company strategy is aligned with the needs of their customers.

      Cons

      The company can only influence the adoption and expansion of Hadoop. There are larger market forces that need to play out for Hadoop to expand more broadly among traditional business units. Managing a successful open source business is a challenge that few have managed well.

      I've read a lot of the negative reviews. They mostly boil down to what you would expect from a company trying to conquer a market: crazy growth, shifting expectations, ambiguity, stiff competition, impatience around the IPO. Does it feel like a finger in the eye sometimes? Absolutely. Ultimately rewarding? Probably. Would you expect anything different?

      Pros

      A very nice startup company. Scale is not very large, you have quite large degree of freedom. colleagues are very smart. There are many activities for employees. unlimited paid-time-off as long as approved by manager.

      Cons

      everyone is working so hard, so you probably need to work in weekends to catch up with the team.
