Pros

Salary is generous There are opportunities for advancement if you're willing to relocate

Cons

The work is boring It's a call centre, whichever way you slice it. You've got to be all in on the company to keep getting ahead. Family? You've no time for them anymore. Friends? Your friends work at CoStar now. If you're a youngster graduate starting out then you'll be fine but beware - once you stop being exactly what costar want you to be you'll be out of there or bored witless.

Pros

-Good overview into commercial real estate -Great training given to you (kind of) all paid for -Good benefits that are offered, including transportation (just make sure you actually use the benefits) -Decent pay for the work you actually do -They usually hire really bright and talkative people, so you are surrounded by great employees -Good learning of an enterprise system -Good work/life balance, they get everyone has stuff going on in their personal lives every now and then -You're not really micromanaged unless they start nitpicking about particular things, then look out because they will never leave you alone. -Metrics are attainable, if you do your job correctly. Its the other bs they throw at you from time to time that becomes annoying.

Cons

-Not a lot of room for advancement. Management has a habit of baiting some of their top employees into staying with the hope and promise of upper management positions..but this couldn't be further from the truth -No room to actually take initiative and do something to help the company. The guidelines within CoStar all come from Head Office in the states. Even if you have a good idea, you will get told no. -Management clearly has favorites. You can be the hardest working employee and never get promoted or recognized because they already know who they want. Merit rarely ever has anything to do with it. -I felt like the director was racist. Harsh claim but you could see him squirm around CoStar employees who aren't white, never stopped to talk or even engage with those researchers who weren't Caucasian. -The research director can be very passive and rude at times if she doesn't like you. Doesn't know how to have a real conversation. -The managers (who researchers report directly to) are pretty ok. They don't have prior management experience so they are learning as they go. -Upper management can be supremely fake to your face (of course)
